竹雲斎は大阪・堺にて初代から120年受け継がれた技術を継承しています。四代竹雲斎は伝統作品を制作しながら、竹の現代造形作品やインスタレーションを世界各地で制作しています。今展覧会では、継承しながら新しい挑戦を繰り返すことで、竹の工芸の新たな可能性を追求します。

Tanabe Chikutnsai IV Exhibition ~Possibilities of Bamboo art ~
2021 July 2nd (Fri) - 28th (Wed)

Chikuunsai is a bamboo artist from Sakai, Osaka, who has been carrying on the techniques handed down from the first generation fora120 years. Chikuunsai IV has been producing traditional works as well as contemporary bamboo sculptures and installations of bamboo all over the world. In this exhibition, he pursues new possibilities of bamboo art by repeating new challenges while continuing the tradition.
